ITF found locked at LN1,the test of the vacuum team was ongoing. I switched to LN2 at 16:48 LT to allow some measurement. ITF unlocked three times for unknown reason, during the last two locks the Shaping filter wasn't enabled due to the 8hz oscillation. Shaping filter manually enabled at 23:30 LT.

ITF left locked with auto-relock with LN2. For the weekend the auto-relock will be active mainly for the measurement needed for the vacuum tests and not for astrowatch since the horizon is particularly low (caused by the pressure rise test).

Operation report - Afternoon shift
In the first part of the shift the commissioning team worked in LaserLab and DetLab to adjust some setup.
At 18:40 LT the ITF was locked at step 12 and Paolo performed some noise injections; at 21:20 LT the ITF unlocked because of an earthquake of magnitude 6.9 in Peru; the earthquake was enough strong to excite a lot the suspensions.
With the ITF unlocked Paolo worked on the ISYS system.
At ~22:40 Lt the effect of the earthquake was disappeared and the ITF was successfully locked at 22:55 LT and put in (Auto)Science.
Under request the ITF was left in LN1.

DAQ
- vdb database is unreachable; experts have been informed;
- Since ~16:30 LT the HREC Horizon is 0 for no obviuos reasons; all the processes are properly running.
- PrPhoton not running

In the first part of the shift the TCS group continued the test started in the morning; the activity was concluded at ~19:30 LT. After that the ITF was relocked at step12 e put in standard condition.
In agreement with the request the ITF was left in Science mode and the autorelock has been enabled.

TCS
To perform the test one photdiode on NI TCS bench has been removed (see dedicated entry for more details) and as consequence the NI TCS laser is seen as OFF by the DMS (red flag); for this reason the subflag has been muted.
To perform the test the NI rotator servo loop was also switched off; it was restarted but the loop seems to work not properly (see figure1). Experts on site have been informed.

Operation report - Daily shift
This morning I found the ITF unlocked and the commissioning team was closing the suspension loops which had been opened after the earthquake in Turkey.
We had some problems with the detection bench but thanks Julien and Gabriele the loop was properly closed; then the WI and WE suspensions were damped along x and finally we started the locking sequence.
The OMC was out of the resonance thus we spent some time to find the good temperature; after that Julien went in the detection Lab to perform some test with the phase camera.

At ~13:00 LT all the processes running on olserver4 crashed; the computing team investigated but the reason of this problem is still under investigation. To restore the situation I had to perform a 'cm kill' of all the processes and then they were restarted. Some processes (bbDaqlf, Fm50Hz, FmTrend, TmpDy MdTrend, PicoApp) have been left off under request.

After that, at ~16:00 LT, the ITF was locked at step 8 and Julien and Matteo continued the work in DetLab; activity still in progress...

cortese and the computing team - 18:45 Monday 24 October 2011 (30448) Print this report
One problem was the unreachability of the /data/trendata_archive and /data/50Hz_archive areas from the ITF network due to a bug in the routing tables of qst1 storage server, starting since 11:38 after a reboot

In the process of tracing the problem the switch between the ITF network and the other networks has been rebooted at 13:43

The volume was again reachable at 16:07 after the stepping-back of the qst1 firmware

There should have been no effects on the on-line processes except for the ones accessing the trendata archive area from olserver6 and we don't have records about why so many Cm processes on other hosts could have been affected

sentenac - 15:24 Tuesday 25 October 2011 (30451) Print this report
The other machines olserver4 and olserver2 were affected because of manual tries to access the hanging directory /data/trenddata_archive on these machines like on olserver6, to confirm the security hole observed. The nfs mounting bloks only the cm processes on the same machine.

Operation report - Daily shift
This morning I tried a couple of time to relocked without success probably because of a B1q1 quadrant was not centered, so Antonio and Irene worked on the environmental noise injection in the central building with the ITF not locked.
After the usual vacuum maintenance (from 14:00 to 15:00Lt) Matteo went in the detection lab to realign the quadrant and the ITF was locked quite easily, step 12 achieved at 16:11Lt.
This first lock lasted ~46min, the ITF unlocked probably because of the wind, it was relocked in LN1 configuration.
Activity of ITF tuning in progress...

DAQ
This morning the Ca_Moni ADC temperature started to increase and at about 12:20Lt went over the DMS threshold (55 degree) triggering an alarm notification.
I made a survey and I discovered that the lateral fan of the crate was not working anymore, in this condition the temperature increased up to 71 degree (see plot).
To not delay the commissioning activities the problem was temporarily solved using an additional external fan, the broken fan needs to be repaired as soon as possible.
